The Jasmine Gateway: 48 Hours in Ancient Damascus

2 Days

Step beyond the role of a traveler and become our daif—our honored guest. This immersive 2-day journey is a carefully woven tapestry of Syria’s most sacred stories, from the jasmine-scented alleys of the world’s oldest capital to the clifftops where the language of Christ still echoes. We handle every detail with seamless precision, leaving you free to breathe in the history, touch the ancient stones, and connect with the resilient heart of the Levant.

Day 01 :
The Scent of Jasmine & The Echo of History

Arrival & Warm Welcome Whether you arrive via the airport or the Lebanese/Jordanian borders, our dedicated team will be there to greet you. Upon arrival at your boutique hotel, we begin with our signature Welcome Reception: a traditional refreshment to settle your spirit while you meet your private expert guide—a storyteller who will be your key to unlocking the secrets of the city.

The Living Museum of Old Damascus We step directly into the labyrinthine alleys of the Christian Quarter. Here, the air is thick with the legendary scent of Damascan Jasmine.

The House of Saint Ananias: We descend into one of the oldest surviving Christian chapels in the world, a subterranean sanctuary where history feels tangible.

The Souks & The Senses: We navigate the ancient markets where the aroma of freshly ground cardamom and exotic spices tells the story of the Silk Road.

Architectural Marvels: We explore the Azem Palace, a masterpiece of Ottoman-Damascene architecture, and the Umayyad Mosque, an icon of spiritual and artistic grandeur.

The Street Called Straight: Walk the very path mentioned in the Bible, a Roman thoroughfare that remains the beating heart of the old city.

A Night of Legends We conclude the afternoon at Al-Nofara, the most famous café in the Levant. You will sit on vintage stools, sipping rich Arabic coffee with a heavy hint of cardamom, listening to the Hakawati (The Traditional Storyteller) as his voice echoes against the stones of the Umayyad.

Day 02 :
Sacred Heights & The Language of Christ

The Heights of Saidnaya After a traditional Levantine breakfast, we ascend into the mountains to Saidnaya, a site of immense spiritual significance.

Convent of Our Lady: Home to an icon whispered to be painted by Saint Luke the Evangelist himself.

The Church of Saint Sophia: We explore a unique religious museum and three distinct chapels, each representing a different architectural era of Syrian Christianity—a visual timeline of faith.

Maaloula: A Living Miracle Next, we journey to the cliffside village of Maaloula, one of the last places on Earth where Aramaic (the language of Jesus) is still spoken in daily life.

Monastery of Saints Sergius and Bacchus: One of the oldest surviving monasteries in the world, featuring an altar that predates the Council of Nicaea.

The Sacred Pass: We will walk the narrow, towering limestone gorge (the Faj) to the Monastery of Saint Tekla, following a path of miracles carved into the mountain.

Farewell As the sun begins to set over the peaks, we provide a comfortable, private transfer back to the airport or the border. You depart not just with photos, but with the spirit of Syrian resilience and hospitality in your heart.
