Payment Procedures & Currency Guide

1. Payment Structure

  • Booking Deposit (30%): A 30% deposit is required immediately to confirm your booking and initiate the security permit and hotel reservation process.
  • Second Payment (40%): A further 40% of the total tour cost must be received via bank transfer at least 15 days before your arrival.
  • Remaining Balance (30%): The final 30% must be paid either 10 days before arrival via bank transfer or in cash upon your arrival in Syria.
  • Transfer Fees: When sending funds via bank transfer, you must select the “OUR” instruction. This ensures that you (the sender) cover all intermediary bank fees so the agency receives the exact total amount due.

2. Cash Requirements in Syria

Due to international sanctions, international credit/debit cards and ATMs do not work in Syria. Please adhere to the following guidelines:

  • Currency: Please bring sufficient USD or EUR in cash to cover your remaining balance and personal spending (meals, souvenirs, and tips).
  • Banknote Quality: All banknotes must be clean, crisp, and printed after 2013. Local banks and exchange offices may reject older, torn, or marked bills.

3. Confirmation & Insurance

  • Proof of Payment: After making a transfer, please email a PDF or screenshot of your receipt to booking@syriacaravans.com.
  • Processing Time: Please allow 2–5 business days for international funds to clear.
  • Traveler Insurance: Every Syria Caravans program includes 31 days of traveler insurance provided by Arabia Insurance Co. Syria, ensuring you have local coverage during your journey.
